Dr. Schumer opened Schumer Dental's Oro Valley office at 11115 N La Cañada Dr in late 2025, bringing the same approach he's built since he acquired the East Tucson office on Wilmot Road in 2012. He handles treatment in his office and only refers procedures to specialists to provide all patients with the proper care they deserve. Dr. Schumer has no associates in his office — every patient sees him personally, at both locations.

Do you accept dental insurance at the Oro Valley office?
Our Oro Valley office does not contract with Delta Dental, but we currently accept Cigna insurance and are actively signing up with more carriers (the credentialing process can take up to six months). We accept payments from any PPO insurance and bill them on your behalf, so you can still use your benefits. Schumer Dental is independent and doctor-owned by Dr. Corey Schumer — not a corporate dental chain or private-equity-backed group, which means Dr. Schumer makes decisions about your care, not investors or corporate quotas. We accept HSA, FSA, and CareCredit financing. Please note: our Oro Valley and East Tucson offices are two separate business entities — coverage varies by location. Are the Oro Valley and East Tucson offices the same practice?
Although we are two separate business entities legally, we share staff and Dr. Schumer between both offices. You'll get the same Dr. Schumer and the same standard of care at either location — but insurance coverage varies by location. Our Oro Valley office does not contract with Delta Dental but offers different insurance coverages, including Cigna; our East Tucson office contracts with Delta Dental Premier and accepts PPO payments. Please call the office you'd like to visit to confirm your plan.
Do you welcome snowbirds and seasonal patients?
Absolutely. A large portion of our Oro Valley patients are snowbirds and winter visitors. We coordinate with your home dentist, see you for emergencies on short notice, and can complete cleanings, cosmetic work, or major procedures within your time in town.

How is your Oro Valley office different from typical dental offices?
Two big things. First, our equipment is modern — same-day digital crowns, low-radiation X-rays, intraoral cameras. You see your teeth on a screen instead of taking our word for it. Second, we're not chasing insurance reimbursement, so visits aren't rushed and treatment plans are based on what you actually need.
