Implant Restoration in Tucson & Oro Valley
Dr. Schumer restores dental implants with precision-fit crowns at his Tucson and Oro Valley offices. He handles the crown work personally and refers placement to a trusted oral surgeon. Serving Saddlebrooke, Rancho Vistoso, Catalina Foothills, and greater Tucson since 2012.
Dental implants are one of the most predictable solutions for missing teeth. Dr. Schumer handles the restorative side — designing and placing the crown over the implant — and refers placement of the implant itself to a trusted oral surgeon.
What makes this approach different.
Natural-Feeling Function
Restored implants function like natural teeth. You can eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
Long-Lasting
With proper care, implant restorations can last for decades. The crown may need replacement after 15-20 years.
Coordinated Care
Dr. Schumer coordinates with your oral surgeon to make sure the restorative side fits seamlessly with the placement.

How implant restoration works
A two-part process — done by the right person.
A dental implant is made up of two parts: a titanium post that's placed into the jawbone by an oral surgeon, and a custom crown that's designed and seated on top by Dr. Schumer.
Dr. Schumer handles the restorative side — the crown work that you see and use every day. Placement of the implant post itself is a surgical procedure, and Dr. Schumer refers it to a trusted oral surgeon so you get the right person for each part of the process.
The result is a permanent solution for missing teeth that functions like the original and is built to last 10+ years with proper care.
About your dentist
Dr. Corey Schumer — 12+ years of dentistry in Tucson.
Dr. Schumer acquired Schumer Dental's East Tucson office on Wilmot Road in 2012 and opened the Oro Valley office at 11115 N La Cañada Dr in late 2025. He's a 2022 and 2025 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics finalist and restores dental implants for patients across Saddlebrooke, Rancho Vistoso, Catalina Foothills, Tanque Verde, and the broader Tucson area.
What makes him different: Dr. Schumer handles every case personally. No associates, no rotating dentists, no handing off implant restoration to a junior provider.

The process, step by step.
Consultation
Dr. Schumer reviews your situation and discusses whether implant restoration is right for you.
Implant Placement
Performed by a trusted oral surgeon — placement of the implant itself is a specialty procedure we refer out.
Healing
3-6 months for the implant to integrate with the bone. Most patients feel normal during this time.
Crown Restoration
Dr. Schumer designs and places a custom crown over the integrated implant — your final restored tooth.
Is this right for you?
Missing One or More Teeth
Implant restoration is for patients who've had implants placed (or are considering them) and need the visible crown on top.
Healthy Gums and Bone
Sufficient bone is needed for the implant to integrate. Your oral surgeon will evaluate this.
Good Oral Hygiene
Restored implants need to be cared for like natural teeth. Good hygiene is essential to long-term success.

Common questions.
Does Dr. Schumer place implants?
Dr. Schumer handles the restorative side — designing and placing the crown over an implant. Placement of the implant itself is a specialty procedure we refer to a trusted oral surgeon. Implants is not a specialty within dentistry, and Dr. Schumer believes patients get the best outcome when each part is handled by the right person.
How long does an implant restoration last?
Modern dental implants have a 95-98% success rate over 10 years, and with proper care, can last for decades. The crown on top of the implant may need replacement after 15-20 years.
How does the process work?
Typically: a trusted oral surgeon places the implant, you heal for 3-6 months while the implant integrates with the bone, then Dr. Schumer designs and places the custom crown on top. The full timeline is usually 4-8 months.
Will it look natural?
Modern implant restorations are designed to blend with surrounding teeth. Dr. Schumer works to match shade and shape carefully — though no restoration is identical to a natural tooth.
What if my implant crown breaks?
Dr. Schumer can repair or replace a broken implant crown. (A broken implant itself — the actual screw in the bone — requires an oral surgeon.)
Are implants right for me?
Most adults missing teeth are candidates, but it depends on your specific situation. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Schumer to discuss whether implant restoration is the right fit, and we'll coordinate with the oral surgeon.
