What can veneers address?
A More Attractive Smile — Without the Oversell
Dr. Schumer's porcelain veneers can address a wide range of cosmetic concerns: chips, cracks, gaps, discoloration that doesn't respond to whitening, and minor misalignment. With today's state-of-the-art materials, it's often hard to distinguish modern veneers from natural teeth.
Every patient's results vary depending on their goals — Dr. Schumer is honest about what's achievable. You can generally expect a brighter, more balanced, and more youthful-looking smile. Pictures shown on this site may not represent actual cases — individual results vary.

Requirements for Candidacy
Most patients are candidates for porcelain veneers, but a few factors determine the best approach for your smile.
Sufficient Enamel
A certain amount of enamel is typically required since traditional veneers need slight enamel removal for a natural look. Minimal- and no-prep veneers may be an option. However, some patients with thinner or worn enamel may not be eligible for veneers.
No Teeth Grinding
Bruxism (clenching and grinding) can fracture porcelain. Some patients can protect their veneers with an oral appliance; in other cases, we'll recommend resolving the issue first.
Only Minor Misalignment
Veneers can conceal small gaps and minor misalignment. Severely crooked teeth are often better treated with orthodontics, like clear aligners.
Ready for a Permanent Change
Traditional veneers permanently alter the teeth — any tooth treated will always need some kind of restoration. Minimal-prep veneers can offer a reversible alternative for the right candidates.
Will people be able to tell I have veneers?
In the past, veneers could appear unnatural, too perfect, or bulky. But with today's state-of-the-art materials, it can be harder to distinguish them from natural teeth. Dr. Schumer's Tucson and Oro Valley patients tell us the same thing: their veneers look like a refined version of their own teeth, not a new set. Every patient's results vary depending on their goals — Dr. Schumer is upfront about what's achievable. You can generally expect a brighter, more balanced smile. About your cosmetic dentist
Dr. Corey Schumer — 12+ years of cosmetic dentistry in Tucson.
Dr. Schumer acquired Schumer Dental's East Tucson office on Wilmot Road in 2012 and opened the Oro Valley office at 11115 N La Cañada Dr in late 2025. He's a 2022 and 2025 Better Business Bureau Torch Award for Ethics finalist and has spent over a decade training in cosmetic and restorative dentistry — including porcelain veneer work for patients across Saddlebrooke, Rancho Vistoso, Catalina Foothills, and the broader Tucson area.
What makes him different: Dr. Schumer handles every case personally. No associates, no rotating dentists, no handing off cosmetic work to a less-experienced provider. When you book a veneer consultation, you're meeting the dentist who'll do the work.

Meet Dr. Schumer first.
Cosmetic dentistry is an investment of time and trust. Before you decide anything, we offer a complimentary meet & greet so you can see who you'd be working with — no pressure, no obligation, no clinical exam.
What to expect from a meet & greet
- Introduce yourself and meet Dr. Schumer in person
- Ask any questions about veneers, the process, or his approach
- No clinical exam, no commitment — just a conversation
- Available at either our Oro Valley or East Tucson office
When you're ready for a full consultation, we'll review your goals and provide a written estimate. Most veneer cases come in under $2,000 per tooth — and you'll always know the number before any treatment begins.

Common questions about porcelain veneers.
How long do porcelain veneers last?
With proper care, porcelain veneers can last 10 years or more. Some patients enjoy their veneers for 15-20 years before any restoration is needed. Regular cleanings, avoiding hard foods, and wearing a night guard if you grind your teeth all extend their lifespan.
Will veneers look natural?
With today's state-of-the-art materials, it can be harder to distinguish modern veneers from natural teeth. Modern porcelain mimics the light-reflecting properties of enamel and is color-matched to your surrounding teeth. We use shade tabs and photography in natural light to get the closest match possible. Every patient's results vary.
How many appointments does it take?
Most veneer cases take two main appointments: one for tooth preparation and impressions (or digital scans), and one for bonding the final veneers. The two visits are spaced 2-3 weeks apart while our ceramist crafts your veneers.
Are veneers reversible?
Traditional veneers require minor enamel removal, which makes them a permanent commitment — any tooth treated will always need some kind of restoration. Minimal- and no-prep veneers can be a reversible alternative for the right candidates.
Does insurance cover veneers?
Because veneers are a purely cosmetic treatment, dental insurance typically does not cover any portion of the cost. We provide written estimates upfront and offer financing options including CareCredit and LendingClub to make treatment affordable.
What's the difference between veneers and bonding?
Bonding uses composite resin to address many of the same concerns as veneers, and it's less expensive. However, bonding cannot match the strength, durability, or lifelike appearance of porcelain. Some patients use bonding to "preview" what veneers might look like before investing in the permanent solution.
Where can I get porcelain veneers in Tucson?
Dr. Schumer places porcelain veneers at both Schumer Dental offices — East Tucson on Wilmot Road (1221 N Wilmot Rd) and Oro Valley on La Cañada Drive (11115 N La Cañada Dr Ste. 101). Patients drive in from Saddlebrooke, Rancho Vistoso, Catalina Foothills, Tanque Verde, and across the greater Tucson area. Same Dr. Schumer at both offices.
Do you offer veneers for snowbirds and winter visitors?
Yes — our Oro Valley office sees a large number of snowbirds and seasonal patients. Dr. Schumer can plan and complete veneer cases within a typical winter stay (usually 2-3 visits over 3-4 weeks), and we coordinate with your home dentist for any follow-up care.
How much do porcelain veneers cost in Tucson?
Dr. Schumer's veneers rarely exceed $2,000 per tooth. The final cost depends on how many teeth you're treating, prep technique (traditional vs. minimal-prep), and the complexity of your case. You'll always get a written estimate before any treatment begins — no surprises.
Porcelain veneers can transform your smile in just two visits.
Bonding can address imperfections, whitening can remove surface stains, orthodontics can realign teeth — but porcelain veneers can deliver dramatic, lasting enhancement in just two office visits.
